Scaevola was Laura's longest-running and most successful character from the Michigan days of the campaign. He was a staunch and forthright cleric of Eru with a fondness for causes. He wielded the awesome Hammer of Might, and once won a Kirinari wish, in the long-ago dayswhen such things were still found in the campaign. Scaevola's rivalry with Dorian was long-standing; both were foes of evil, but Scaevola believed in mercy and the possibility of conversion, whereas Dorian felt the only good foe was a dead foe.
After adventuring for a time Scaevola went to the western Darkroot Mountains and established a powerful fortress there. Beseiged, he and his many followers were soon starving in the harsh landscape. There followed "The Miracle of the Cattle", when Scaevola called upon Eru for assistance and the deity responded by sending them a mighty herd of divine bovines for sustenance. Scaevola's reputation grew with each retelling, and soon he had attracted enough followers to break the seige and establish his territory. He rules there still, wisely and justly, and several other retired PCs have since joined him.
