Dear Wendy, (May I call you that?)
How do you know when you've met a man worth pursuin'? I meet many men in my line of work, bein' an adventurer and bard and all, but only one has caught my interest. I can't talk to my friends about him due to the ... uncomfortable circumstances of our meeting, but I find myself daydreaming about him now and again. He even slipped a wee private note into my saddlebag without anyone noticing (and without taking anything!), the sly boots.
Wondering,,

P.S. How does one manage to stay alive as the danger grows greater? (And why is it always giant weasles??)

Dear Madigan Maye,
Yes, you may!
Well, that is probably a question even the Sages would have difficulty in answering. My personal thinking on men is is that some of them are more trouble then they are worth. Now, don't get me wrong, I love men, I just find that some of them are time consuming and troublesome. If you do find one worth "pursuing" make sure he is worth keeping around (for at least a while).
But having said all that when you do find that "right man" he can make you and your world that much more special. Now, there are different ways to look at maintaining a relationship with a man. If you take the societal viewpoint then you marry and stay with them until the day you join Mother Earth.
Or, if you look at it as it is in nature, you could have many mates over the span of a lifetime (or you could even devour them after mating, but that seems a little extreme and wasteful to me).
So, to try and answer your original question, "How do you know when you've met a man worth pursuin?" The only answer I can give you is is that you will know. It may take a while for your mind to catch up to your heart, but you will realize it eventually.
As far as how to manage to stay alive against greater dangers, hopefully you will grow smarter and more powerful as you progress. If not, the Great Wheel will eventually stop turning on your life journey. And pray-tell, why not Giant Weasels? Some of them are my closest friends. Maybe someday I can introduce you to Warren, a great traveling companion of mine.
WW

Dear WW,
I keep running into poetry by someone known as Phlegg. Now, all (and I do mean all) of my companions say his poetry really, really sucks. Yet I find myself liking some of it. Is there something wrong with me?? My companions are suggesting things like having a Remove Curse cast on me, as well as having the Temple of Beniceem cast a Remove Insanity. Please help clarify..... is Phlegg a good poet, or do I simply have bad taste in poetry??
Kivan Basman

Dear Kivan,
How wonderful!
I am glad to hear that someone else has discovered poetry of Phleeg. I started a collection of his writings many years ago! I would be most interested in exchanging pieces with you. I too questioned the quality and merit of his writing but ultimately decided to leave that to the Sages to determine. To me, I enjoy them for the imagery and uniqueness of word choices that they provide. So forget the Remove Curse and Insanity spells. Just continue to read them out loud to all that will listen. You don't say if you are a bard or not; if so, maybe you could try putting some of them to song?
