Aleradam River
This river originates on the western slopes of the Greybones, and flows 100 miles southwest until it joins the River Rhovel at the city of Heron. It is settled along the latter half of its length, though its upper reaches are home to only scattered keeps. It is known for a great waterfall, 1000 feet high, that cascades down the face of Ebar Mistros, whereby the river reaches the lowlands below.

Beliran
Beliran is the name given to the land on the east side of Calidon, between the Kelibar Lunith and the Dawnwater Sea.. It is a rugged land of hills and deep valleys, heavily forested and cut with many rivers. There are scattered human strongholds there, and the southwestern Fifty Kingdoms extends down into the northern part. It is home to ogres and hobgoblins, in addition to many other strange creatures.

Bones of Skerus
This is the rugged range of tall hills in the southern Notar Republic, west of the city of Har. There are some small villages around their base, but the Bones themselves are largely uninhabited, except by bandits and strange creatures. The hills are cut by the Skerus Gap, through which passes the road from Har to Malijor.

Calidon
Calidon is the name of the massive central peninsula that extends southward from the main body of the continent of Telthrea. The Notar Republic lies at the southern end of this region. It is bracketed by the Dawnwater Sea to the east, and the Evenwater Sea to the west. It is roughly 850 miles across, and perhaps 900 miles north to south.

Cliffs of Skerus
These are the great sea-cliffs where the Bones of Skerus descend to meet the Straits of Nornissa, in the Notar Republic near the city of Har. They rise nearly a thousand feet straight up from the sea, and in most places are nearly sheer. They extend in a convex arc for about 20 miles. The only inhabitants are a great many sea-birds and at least one dragon.

Dawnwater Sea
This is a long inlet extending northwest from the Gulf of Ghun, along the east side of Calidon. Many ships ply its waters. It is a sheltered water, and has the reputation of being kind to sailors.

Esus River
This river rises from snowmelt in the Kelibar Fangos and flows 120 miles southwest until it joins the Sisunen River at Dindale. It is a fast river, but navigable for much of its length. Most, but not all, of the communities and keeps along its banks are on the south side, for the north bank is territory disputed with the Kingdom of Harragard.

Evandiar
Evandiar is the westernmost of the the three great peninsulas that extend south from the main body of Telthrea. It is the home to the elven and gnomish kingdoms, and a number of small human realms as well. It is, in general, a heavily forested land to the north, giving way to hills and plains and eventually to desert in the far south.

Evenwater Sea
This is a long, tapering inlet that sweeps many hundreds of miles north from the Straits of Nornissa, separating Calidon from Evendiar. It is a major route for shipping, as there are many seaports on both its coasts, and the water is relatively sheltered. The sea is about 150 miles wide for most of its length, though this varies somewhat.

Fangos Vale
This is the territory bounded by the Esus river, the Sisunen River, and Kelibar Fangos. It is a rich and green land, but is currently inhabited mostly by brigands and monsters. This is because it is claimed by both the Notar Republic and the Kingdom of Harragard. Battle and war have driven out or killed all but the most stubborn of the former inhabitants, and there are a number of ruined villages, towns, and keeps there.

Gordwroth Hills
A strange, rugged range of hills in northern Teralm. They are almost uninhabited (by people), and many strange ruins are found there, especially the ruins of the ancient city of Yelith. Odd creatures, such as will-o-wisps, are supposed to dwell there.

Greybones, The
This range of mountains runs from the mountain ranges in central Calidon south to the Straits of Nornissa, bisecting southern Calidon. On the west side is the Notar Republic, and the mountains form the Republic's eastern border. To the west is the now largely uninhabited land of Tallanmoor. The Greybones are a relatively low but very rugged range, and the high peaks are always snow-covered, even at the southern end. The highest point is Ebar Rhaga, at 11,700 feet. Two passes pierce the range; the southern one carries the lightly-traveled road from Ustil to Potros. The northern one is not used, as it leads towards the Wyrmvale. Many giants inhabit these mountains; some are friendly, most are not. They are also prowled by packs of dire wolves, among other dangers.

Kelibar Fangos
This is the western range of the massive uplands that form central Calidon. The mountains run from the Kiloma Highlands in the north down to the Notar Republic, and a large spur runs east, south of the Plateau of Amidamas. The only real pass is the Lostern Pass east of Andilon. The highest peak is Ebar Derro, at 15,000 feet. In the eastern portion of these mountains is found the dwarven kingdom of Mangorad. Winters in these mountains are fierce. The eastern part of the range encompasses the Wyrmvale, and thus has the largest dragon population in Telthrea.

Kelibar Lunith
This mountain range (Kelibar is the dwarven word for mountains) runs down the eastern part of Calidon, between the valley of the Stormflow River and Beliran. It is uninhabited by humans, though there are scattered keeps and holdings carved out by determined (and tough) individuals. These mountains contain the last significant orc population in Calidon, as well as displacer beasts, trolls, and the occasional dragon.

Kelibar Obrusk
This mountain chain forms the northern part of the vast mountain uplands of central Calidon. They run northeast from headwaters of the Sisunen River to north of the Plateau of Amidamas. There are no significant human populations there, though there are said to be some near the eastern end of the chain. Yeti are known to dwell in the high peaks, though, as are rocs, griffins, and stone giants. The highest peak is Ebar Morthak, at a little over 13,300 feet.

Kiloma Highlands
The Kiloma Highlands are a very widespread area of hills in northern Calidon; they are essentially the extended foothills of the Kelibar Obrusk. They are lightly wooded, though there are some deep dales filled with trees. This area is the home of the Gwyrdion Fayre, a peaceable, isolated folk said to be the last remnants of an ancient empire. They have no central government as far as anybody knows, and speak their own language, though most of them know the common tongue. There are some strange creatures there as well, such as leucrotta, chimeras, and giant stag beetles. Some of the deep dales are also said to hold a leprechaun or two.

Lake Rhovel
This large lake sits in the far north of the Notar Republic, and the city of the same name is situated on its north bank. It lies in a large valley, and is a deep, cold body of water fed by snowmelt from the surrounding mountains. Its outflow is the River Rhovel. The lake contains many fish, including giant pike.

Longrift
The Longrift is not so much a canyon as a giant crack in the ground, a splitting of the earth. It begins on the Plateau of Amidamas, and travels southeast roughly 120 miles. Its about 200 yards wide on average, and over 3000 feet deep in places, which puts the bottom below sea level. Its steep sides preclude entry, but here and there narrow ledges lead downwards. The bottom is said to be a very strange place, but no one knows for certain, because no one who descends ever comes back.

Morinara Greendeep
The Morinara Greendeep sits at the north end of the Evenwater Sea, just northwest of Calidon. It is a dense forest, roughly 150 miles from east to west and 100 miles from north to south. Many strange tales are told of it. Few travel there now, but even at the height of the Empire the legions avoided it. Most explanations credit some protective power that dwells at the heart of the wood, but what that power is is debated. Various explanations credit a demi-god level spirit, an incredibly old and powerful green dragon, a secretive cabal of druids, or perhaps an ancient elvish curse.

Neck, The
The Neck is the long, narrow isthmus that connects the central and eastern parts of Telthrea. It divides the Sea of Ghun and the northern ocean, and is almost 200 miles long but only about 15 miles wide. To say that this piece of geography has had a major effect on the civilizations of Telthrea is an understatement. Currently most of the Neck is under the control of the Kingdom of Shadizar; they have built a fortification completely across the eastern end of the neck (the latest in a series of such barriers throughout history) and jealously control passage along it. The Empire of Iza controls the far end, and schemes for the rest.

Plateau of Amidamas
This is a huge plateau in the center of the Calindonian uplands. It is backed by mountains to the north, but falls off sharply to the east, west, and south. These cliffs are 1000 feet high and nearly sheer, though there are a few narrow paths to the top. The top itself is fairly flat, though split here and there by cracks and gorges, the largest of which by far is the Longrift. The plateau is hot in the summer, and the winters there are harsh; the wind blows ceaselessly across it, and it snows. It is also the home to many creatures. Rocs nest on the cliffs, and undead roam the surface, issuing forth from the crevasses.

River Rhovel
This river flows westward from Lake Rhovel. After it clears the mountain south of the lake it turns southward, and then flows the length of the Notar Republic, ending in the Straits of Nornissa. Ustil is situated at the river's mouth. The river is navigable for its full length, and a lot of barge traffic passes between Ustil and the city of Lake Rhovel, with some of it stopping at Heron. There are giant frogs in the river, and in some of the marshier areas along its banks giant dragonflies can be a problem.

Salt Fens
The Salt Fens are a large salt marsh on the central coast of the Notar Republic, west of Ustil. They extend along the coast for about 50 miles, and vary from 5 to 15 miles deep. This region is home to a few scattered villages, and to a great many creatures, such as skating spiders, giant rats, and giant toads.

Sisunen River
This long river is created by streams flowing down from the western slopes of the Kelibar Fangos. It flows southward, forming the eastern border of all the Western Kingdoms except Hovag, and into the Straits of Nornissa. It is the western border of the Notar Republic, and the city of Malijor is located at its mouth. There are many busy riverports along the river, and it carries much ship and barge traffic.

Stormflow River
This is the mightiest river in Calidon. It rises from many tributary rivers in the central highlands and flows south, where it is joined by rivers flowing west out of the Kelibar Lunith. When the river emerges from between the mountain ranges in Tallanmoor it takes a sweeping bend eastward and flows through southern Beliran, where it flows east into the Sea of Ghun. Its total length is over 1000 miles. The river is subject to vast floods, and as a result the land about it is very fertile. Since Tallanmoor was depopulated, however, no one lives there. There are no bridges on the entire river, though there is a temple of Tilelva on the river in Tallanmoor that will provide passage across the river, it is said.

Tallanmoor
Tallanmoor is a wide green land lying east of the Greybones in south-central Calidon. It is also a land of ghosts and ruins. Until a century ago it was home to one of the most powerful realms in Calidon, the Kingdom of Tallan. They had battled the Empire of Thargossa to a standstill for years, but as they were weakening a plague of dragons arose from the deep vale in the north of the region and descended on the kingdom. Within a few years it lay in ruins, and many stretches of the land are still devastated. Only the city-state of Potros, on the coast, still remains. The vale from which the dragons arose is now called the Wyrmvale.

Where dragons have not burned the land it remains a region of rivers, low hills, and forests. The north part of the region is remarkably free of monsters; this is because the dragons that still lair there have eaten most of the game, driving away other large predators. Those predators that choose to remain are usually eaten by the dragons, as well. Things are a bit different in the south, as that area is less frequented by the dragons. There ogres, manticores, and giant beetles are common, and lately tyrannosaurs have been filtering into the area from the east.

Tallan River
This river flows from the eastern Kelibar Fangos south through the middle of Tallanmoor, flowing into the Straits of Nornissa at Potros. It is about 280 miles in length. While no bridges span it, the ruins of several bridges can still be found. The river is inhabited by many creatures, including mottled worms, giant carp, and giant otters, and marine trolls.

Valley of Gaunt
This valley lies at the southwestern edge of the Kiloma Highlands. It opens onto northeastern Andilon, and forms that kingdom's northeastern border. The valley is constantly shrouded in mist and fog, and is a place of lank grasses and scraggly thorn bushes. It is also a place of terror; few who enter it ever return, and those who return are usually insane. Those who have been cured speak of a black temple, and of undead monsters and spirits that whisper in the mist.

Wyrmvale
The Wyrmvale is a deep pocket in the Kelibar Fangos, north of Tallanmoor. It has always had the reputation of being a dangerous place, but about a century ago many dragons swarmed south from there and destroyed the Kingdom of Tallan. The dragons remain, most of them still lairing in the vale. Some have been killed, and some have killed one another; the ones that remain contend among themselves for territory and wealth, though open battle between them is said to be rare now. The dragons include red, green, purple, and black varieties, and maybe others as well. Nothing lives there but the dragons.

Wovengrass Plains
This is a vast sea of grasslands that lies north of Calidon. They extend for hundreds of miles, and are the home to both a number of small kingdoms and cities, and to the Wemic, a race of centaur-lions. Many different herd animals are found there in large numbers, as are some baluchitherium, spotted lions, and bulettes.
