Leanne and Becky begin the group. Richard joins for the second gaming session, and late in the Elcean year Art Ward begins playing.
5/25/3128: Aleric, Agatha, Roberath, and Chalgt arrive in the city of Ossana. They meet Stargoth, Samrith, and Raang in Trooney's Spear and agree to form a new adventuring group together. They have heard of a strange old castle called Castle Mhelgos, near the village of Greymarsh, and decide to make it their first adventure.
5/28/3128: They reach the village of Greymarsh. Chalgt flirts with the innkeeper's daughter, Myra, who is destined to become his wife. They also meet the serving girl Janee.
5/30/3128: They meet Sourjnee, who is also in Greymarsh to investigate the castle. He joins them. The eight adventurers journey to and enter the castle. In their first battle they rout a band of goblins.
6/7/3128: Aleric hears that "Doom shall be your lot" in the oracular Chamber of the Four Winds.
6/8/3128: The group finds a talking moose head hanging on one of the castle's walls. They take it. The moose head is still around today, making philosophical observations from its vantage point above Chalgt's fireplace.
6/11/3128: Chalgt is teleported to the unexplored 3rd floor of the castle. While searching for him Soujrnee becomes the group's first casualty when he is smashed by a trap that squashes him between two statues. Chalgt is found and the group heads back to Ossana.
6/13/3128: The raise dead spell on Soujrnee fails.
6/14/3128: The group spends their remaining money to buy an alter reality spell from Marn Shadowspell. This gives Soujrnee another constitution check, and this time he is successfully raised.
6/15/3128: Becky GMs the "knife rat" adventure. Culgi joins the group.
6/19/3128: The group returns to Castle Mhelgos to continue their explorations. Agatha is hit by a rot grub. Ingeniously, she downs a potion of polymorph self and transforms into a jellyfish, allowing the group to see and cut out the deadly grub. They keep her alive in jellyfish form until the potion wears off. Later that day Aleric is killed by a flock of stirges.
6/21/3128: Aleric is raised in Ossana.
6/27/3128: The group re-enters the castle.
6/30/3128: Myra is kidnapped by a band of thieves and brigands. Chalgt is told to come alone with the ransom money. He goes, but pulls a hidden dagger and attacks when he reaches the appointed rendezvous. The rest of the group follows and joins the fray. Stargoth is killed in the ensuing battle, but the bandits and their pet cleric are all killed. Chalgt cuts the survivor's throats and burns their hide-out to the ground.
7/3/3128: Stargoth is raised back in Ossana. Agatha joins the Ossana Thief's Guild; in the process, however, she makes an enemy of the thief Merle. A Thief's Vendetta is declared between them.
7/6/3128: Agatha and Merle meet in the Catspaw Tavern to settle their vendetta. While the group holds off Merle's henchmen Agatha kills Merle in single combat.
7/9/3128: The group comes across a burning, pillaged farm near Greymarsh while they are returning from Ossana. Though they don't know it at the time, this is their first look at the handiwork of the Eyeless Priest.
7/10/3128: Once again the group explores the rooms and hallways of Castle Mhelgos. There they defeat a very young red dragon, and have to defeat it a second time when a cursed scroll in its hoard revives it.
7/14/3128: While riding back to Ossana to sell treasure the group finds and cures Rathbone, the survivor of a group that had been exploring the nearby Tower of Taurinius. The group rides to the tower to see if anyone else can be rescued, but there are no other survivors. The group continues on to Ossana. Rathbone joins the group.
7/18/3128: The group returns to the Tower of Taurinius. There Roberath is killed by large spiders.
7/19/3128: Half of the group takes Roberath to Ossana, where he is raised. The other half of the group goes to Greymarsh.
7/21/3128: The group reunites in Greymarsh. Roberath persuades the group to accept Janee as a member. Chalgt proposes to Myra, who accepts.
7/24/3128: The group begins exploring the second floor of Castle Mhelgos. Culgi is killed when he takes one drink too many from a magical fountain that grants spells.
7/27/3128: Culgi is raised in Ossana.
8/2/3128: Once more into the castle. There they find a talking skull in a box, which seems to be a weird sort of treasure map. Later, Janee proves her worth when the group fights a pack of 4 ghouls. With everyone else paralyzed, she kills the last ghoul and saves the party.
8/3/3128: Aleric is slain by the young green dragon Mustos. The group flees, but return later that day and kill the dragon.
8/4/3128: Aleric is buried in Greymarsh, and an oak tree is planted at the head of his grave. The group discusses the increasing raids of the Eyeless Priest's forces, and decide to investigate his stronghold.
8/5/3128: Rathbone leads Soujrnee, Janee, Agatha, and Samrith in scouting out the Eyeless Priest's territory.
8/6/3128: Jedinna joins the group.
8/8/3128: Stargoth is killed by a large bear in Castle Mhelgos.
8/10/3128: Back to Ossana. Stargoth is raised. Soujrnee buys Prisma the hummingbird.
8/15/3128: The group resumes exploring the castle.
8/20/3128: While heading back to Ossana to train and resupply the group meets Clindroc Ironsword. He challenges the group. Chalgt fights him and loses, and Clindroc takes a lot of their treasure. The group raids his camp that night to try and get their stuff back. They do, but Culgi is captured and has to be ransomed.
8/22/3128: The group hires the MU Marnock to replace Aleric. Raang disappears - he has been turned evil by a cursed mask.
8/25/3128: They return to Castle Mhelgos. Rathbone is befriended by Edgar the raven, whose phrase "Eyes to peck!" becomes a familiar refrain. Agatha is killed by a trap.
8/28/3128: Agatha is raised in Ossana. The group finds and captures Raang. They break the curse and restore his alignment.
9/3/3128: They return to the castle in search of more loot.
9/5/3128: A magical potion causes Janee's hair to grow uncontrollably.
9/8/3128: The group returns to Ossana to find a cure for Janee's hair, whose growth is halted before it buries Greymarsh. Agatha successfully picks the pocket of a noble, but is identified.
9/9/3128: Agatha evades the City Watch, who have a warrant for her arrest. Stargoth begins his shy courtship of Samrith by buying her a flower.
9/14/3128: Once more unto the castle.
9/15/3128: First Culgi, then Janee succumb to potion-induced paranoia. Culgi's new magic sword is wrongly suspected as the cause and is pitched into the castle's moat. The two are locked up in Greymarsh for the next several days while the rest of the group explores the castle.
9/25/3128: Back in Ossana, the paranoid members of the group are at last cured.
9/29/3128: The nobleman whose pocket Agatha picked has turned to the assassin's guild for justice. Zurnol the assassin kills Agatha, who is raised the next day.
10/3/3128: The group returns to the castle, where they defeat a large band of bugbears.
10/6/3128: The group finds Santon the druid, who joins the party. Agatha is killed by a poison fang trap.
10/8/3128: While en route back to Ossana the group encounters a pair of evil cloud giants, who kill Stargoth.
10/9/3128: Stargoth and Agatha are raised.
10/11/3128: While on the way back to Greymarsh the group is ambushed by trolls, and Raang is killed.
10/12/3128: The group about-faces and returns to Ossana, where Raang is raised.
10/18/3128: The group finally makes it back to Greymarsh. They begin to explore the 3rd floor of Castle Mhelgos. There, lead by Chalgt, they defeat the Defenders of Aar and recover the Jewel of Aar.
11/4/3128: The group finishes the 3rd floor of the castle and begin to explore the dungeon level.
11/8/3128: The group returns to Ossana to train and do research. Clindroc enters Trooney's Spear that night and flirts with Jedinna.
11/11/3128: The group encounters a pack of large, fierce wolves on the way back to Greymarsh, and several party members are badly bitten.
11/13/3128: The group returns to the dungeon of Castle Mhelgos. Agatha has her hand rotted off by a violet fungi.
11/16/3128: Soujrnee is killed as the group battles the Defender, a high-level monk. Chalgt kills the monk. On the way back to Greymarsh that evening the group meets Muliss, a talking horse who was once a magic-user. That night, the night of the first full moon since the wolf attack five days before, several villagers are killed in Greymarsh by an unknown savage beast.
11/17/3128: Rathbone follows the tracks of the monster to the window of his room at the Inn in Greymarsh. Marnock's spells confirm that Rathbone, Jedinna, and Roberath have been infected with lycanthropy and are the killers, though they don't remember doing it.
11/19/3128: In Ossana Soujrnee is raised and Jedinna and Rathbone are cured of their lycanthropy.
11/20/3128: The quick cure of Rathbone fails and he begins a month-long stay at the Temple of Beniceem for the full cure. Agatha's stump is fitted with a hook, which can be exchanged for different thief's tools.
11/21/3128: Asnath approaches the group with a job offer. He is willing to pay them to transport some goods to Balimar. The group, ready for a change, agrees.
12/4/3128: The group reaches Balimar without undue incident. They book the "haunted suite" at the Dusty Traveler Inn. They make their delivery, and later in the day meet Stephan of Mandor for the first time. That night a specter materializes in their suite and delivers a dire warning; deliver his killer or be hunted down.
12/5/3128: The group tracks down Dolger, who apparently killed the specter in the first place. With him they await the specter's appearance at midnight. The group and Dolger destroy the specter.
12/15/3128: The adventurers arrive back in Ossana.
12/22/3128: Rathbone, now cured, sails to Krell to seek atonement from a temple there.
12/23/3128: The rest of the group re-enters Castle Mhelgos.
12/24/3128: Rathbone sails back from Krell. His ship is attacked and sunk by pirates, and Rathbone is taken prisoner. Edgar escapes as the pirates sail for Icegate Island, and flies south. In Castle Mhelgos, the group finds and frees Lammy the lammasu.
12/25/3128: Rathbone escapes and jumps overboard. He is saved from drowning by friendly dolphins, who push him ashore on a small isle. There he meets Widow (short for Widowmaker) Grue, who restores him to health and provides him with a small boat to sail to Langoust.
12/26/3128: An exhausted Edgar arrives in Greymarsh and croaks out Rathbone's fate. The group rides for Ossana the next day.
12/27/3128: Rathbone reaches Langoust. Penniless, he takes a job on the docks to earn passage to Ossana.
12/30/3128: The group buys charts and maps and prepares to sail to Icegate to rescue Rathbone.
